Your Local Executive
About Us
A group of SUN members (registered nurses) who join together become a local. For the most part, a local is facility- or agency based. Local members elect a local executive. The local executive is responsible for communicating with members, both to inform members of local and provincial union activities, and to act on issues and concerns expressed by the members. The local executive meets with your employer to resolve contract violations, nursing practice issues and other local issues. Local 75 has close to 3000 members, who work at Royal University Hospital, the Jim Pattison Childrens Hospital and the Dube Center. We also cover a few smaller areas in the community.
Lori Powell: President
Lori became an RN in 2015 and an executive member of Local 75 in 2016. Lori holds a position in the Child and Youth unit at Dube and is currently working in her full time role as President in the Local 75 office.
Mandi Senger: Vice President
Mandi has been an RN for 11 years with experience in adult float pool, Children’s Emergency and PICU. Mandi is currently working full time in her role as Vice President in the Local 75 office.
Jesslaine Nickolet: Secretary
Jesslaine has been an RN on Maternal Services since 2008. She currently works as a CRN there and picks up casually as a staff nurse on the unit as well as with Healthy Mother Healthy Baby.
Tracy Bergen: NAC Chair
Tracy has been an RN for 24 years working in the areas of Med/Surg, Oncology and as a Clinical Instructor for the U of S.
Gail Kizlyk: PR & Education Chair
Gail has been an RN for 18 years and is currently a transport nurse in Neonatal Intensive Care.
Alex Fecke: Treasurer
Alex has been an RN and a member of the Local 75 Executive team since 2022. She has worked on Maternal Services at JPCH and the Maternal Children's Provincial Program.
Tina Lloyd: Accommodation & RTW Chair
Racheal Martens: Occupational Health and Safety
Racheal has been an RN for 17 years, and works in Paediatrics at JPCH. She is also the Employee Co-chair on the Occupational Health Committee at JPCH.
Terren Klassen: Junior Executive
Terren started nursing in 2023. He currently works on 5100-5200 Medicine as well as 6200 Medicine.
Karen Schneider: Executive Assistant
Karen joined our Local Office in 2020. She is the friendly voice that greets you on the phone!
