9.1   NURSING ADVISORY COMMITTEE

a) Shall be composed of a chairperson and funded for six (6)

b) Shall be responsible for representing the Local in reviewing and making recommendations relevant to patient care;

b) Will function as outlined in the SUN/SAHO Collective Agreement;

d) Shall be responsible for education and encouraging the members to utilize the process of documentation on work situation reports.

9.2   PR & EDUCATION COMMITTEE

a) Shall be composed of a chairperson and up to one (1) member.

b) Shall be responsible to maintain the Local website.

c) Will work to increase communications in the Local.

9.3   OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY COMMITTEE

a) Shall be appointed by the Local for all three (3) committees.

b) The committees are as follows

         i) RUH

         ii) Dube

         iii) JPCH

c) The Local Executive OHS Chairperson or designate shall be the Local’s representatives on additional Safety Committees.

d) One (1) member from each committee will participate in quarterly check in. Preference given to co-chairs.

9.4   Unit Representatives

a) shall attend general and annual meetings, providing a verbal or written report for your unit. If more than one (1) unit rep, a single report is required.

b) shall attend annual Unit Rep workshop(s).

9.5   SUPPORTING COMMUNITIES COMMITTEE

a) Shall be composed of an executive liaison (First Vice-President) and maximum five (5) members.

b) Shall meet a minimum of four (4) times per year.

c) Shall organize local volunteer opportunities.

d) Make recommendations regarding education opportunities and operationalize Local annual donations.

e) A chairperson shall be elected from and by the committee members.

NURSING ADVISORY, OH&S, PR & EDUCATION, & SUPPORTING COMMUNITIES COMMITTEE MEMBERS 

Compensation for members of the above committees will be reviewed on an annual basis when setting the Local’s Annual Budget. The appropriate executive member for each committee will ensure all hours remain within the allotted budgets, approve all time sheets, and approve all requests for payments or LOAs.

Committee Members may carry over twelve (12) hours of banked time from one (1) year to the next and must be used in the first thirty (30) days of the calendar year. Any unused hours will be paid out.
